About Me

I guess you’re here to find out more about me to see if we’re a good fit.

Let me tell you a bit about myself . . .

Before starting my career in book publishing at Penguin Random House, I was a bookseller, a hospital radio broadcaster and wrote terrible poetry.

The beginning of my marketing career was pretty varied, from mailing out a hundred individually boxed Brussels sprouts to sitting in a Waterstones shop window dressed as Queen Elizabeth I.

But it wasn’t all silly fun and games! By the end of my thirty-year career, I had created marketing campaigns for hundreds of adult and children’s books from debut authors to global brands. I ran one of the most successful and happiest* marketing teams in British publishing and was a member of the senior management strategy team.

I first trained as a coach in 2010 and worked primarily with clients on leadership skills within businesses before gaining my International Coaching Federation (ICF) accreditation and setting up my coaching business, Inkworks.

I worked for four years as a writing coach with Gale and Co and have been a mentor for women in business through the 30% Club. I now offer coaching to individuals (life coaching and writing coaching) as well as to businesses.

I am a mum, a stepmum, an animal lover, a gardener and a painter. I am also working on a novel, and now write terrible songs for fun instead of terrible poetry.

* In a company survey, I once scored so highly on team satisfaction that HR pulled me into a meeting to make sure I hadn’t bullied my team into it. (To be clear, I hadn’t!)

I am an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach.
As a member of ICF, I adhere to their strict ethical guidelines.
